In the meantime, the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has secured some crucial concessions from manufacturers like Viagra to help keep costs down.

The news adds to ongoing uncertainty regarding Pfizer's commitment to the agreement, which expires in 2019.
The agreement also covers Viagra, which Pfizer will acquire in a transaction with Bayer in December 2017.
Both companies have expressed interest in participating in the agreement, but Pfizer has yet to respond to an email.
